Metabolic Testing

What Metabolic Testing Includes

Metabolic testing gives you a clear, objective picture of how your body is functioning- not estimates, not assumptions, but real data. At Reclaim Wellness, I use three gold‑standard assessments:

  1. DXA Body Composition Scan- The DXA scan provides a detailed breakdown of body fat, lean mass, bone density, and visceral fat. It shows exactly where you’re gaining or losing specific tissue and gives a baseline for long‑term health and performance. Subsequent testing is performed at the end of the program to determine progress made.
  2. VO₂max Assessment- This test measures cardiorespiratory fitness and how efficiently your body uses oxygen during exercise. It identifies your aerobic capacity, training zones, carbohydrate & fat oxidation rates and endurance potential- information that helps you train smarter, not harder.
  3. Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Test- RMR testing reveals how many calories your body burns at rest. This is essential for building nutrition plans that support fat loss, muscle gain, or performance without unnecessary restriction.

Together, these tests create a complete metabolic profile that guides every part of your program.

Why Metabolic Testing Matters

Most people rely on generic calculators, fitness trackers, or assumptions about their metabolism. These tools can be wildly inaccurate. Metabolic testing removes the guesswork and replaces it with clarity. Clients benefit by:

  1. Understanding your true calorie needs
  2. Training in the correct heart‑rate zones
  3. Tracking meaningful changes in body composition
  4. Identifying metabolic inefficiencies early
  5. Making decisions based on data, not trends

For anyone serious about their health- whether the goal is fat loss, muscle gain, improved performance, or simply aging well- metabolic testing provides the roadmap. Coaching then turns that roadmap into action.
